The crowd was roaring like the roar of a lion! I was so nervous that I was sweating more than I usually do. As I got the ball, I took it for a layup and got fouled. Then I was at the free throw line and if I made it, we win the game. 40 seconds to go in overtime so I knew I had to make it. I bounced the ball 2 times, I felt it roll of my fingers... 

I was with my coach and my teammates. The coach said, “we can win this game.”  

It was the end of the game and tied 23 to 23 with 20 seconds to go! Then my teammate went for a layup, but he missed it.    

Now we are in overtime and there is 4 minutes in overtime. There was going to be a tip off as well. Sam and cooper were doing the tip off but unfortunately cooper got it, so they had the ball. The point guard went for a layup and made it.    

Now it is 2 to 2 and they scored again so its 4 to 2. Evan got the ball and made a layup so it 4 to 4.    

There is 1 minute and 40 seconds to go. It is the other team’s ball and they missed the layup. We took a time out the coach stated, “we have to pass more, there is always a open guy or an open lane.”  

I asked, “who is going to be point guard?”  

She said “you.”  

I was  really nervous . Our time out was over. They had the ball and we stopped them. 1 minute to go and everybody was anxious. The people on the bleachers were standing up and shouting. 

Our coach was yelling what to do.  

We kept on going back and forth with the ball.  

The 50 seconds to go and I had the ball. I was trying to waste time but also needed to score. I took the ball up for a layup but got fouled. I was at the free throw line. It was a 1 and 1 which meant if I made it I get to take another shot nut it didn’t matter because I only needed one point to win. The ref passed me the ball. I took my time and bounced the ball 2 times. I couldn’t hear anything because I was so focused about getting the ball In the hoop. I felt like everything was in slow motion. I shot it...it went in and everybody started picking me up and cheering. Now we are going to the championship. I was proud of my teammates because they worked as hard as I did.    

I was so happy that we won the game and we got to go to the championship. I learned if you work hard good things will come in the end. I hope that happens again because I like intense games. I thought to myself that was the best game of my life.
