In honor of Josh

A long time ago, there lived a Dogeal caudacrus, commonly referred to by its nickname, The Dog-Seal.

The Dog-Seals lived on a tropical island, off the coast of current
day Greece. They roamed
the forest...
And swam in the sea, by using their remarkable ability to breathe both underwater and on land!

In the humid summers, they lived primarily in the ocean and went to land occasionally to hunt for food.

But, during the frigid winter months, they would primarily live on land, only going to the ocean from time to time, in hopes of catching food.

The Dog-Seal is known for its gray fur, ovular body shape and circular head. It also has a medium sized tail, 4 legs, floppy ears, and a snout that sticks out of its face.

All was well until one day, a violent earthquake destroyed the Dog-Seal's home!
Because of this geographic isolation, some were forced to the sea, while others fled inward, stuck on land.

The Dog-Seals that were forced to the sea had no way of getting back to their destroyed homes! So, they lived and hunted in the ocean, far away from land.

By living only in water, this population of Dog-Seals evolved over time to become better suited to their environment. This new variation in the Dog-Seals created a new species, known as the Dogeal aceor, nicknamed the Sealies.

Their once strong legs have become shorter and obsolete in use, since they do not travel on land anymore. Also, their tail has grown in size, due to the Sealies having to swim all of the time. They also have a new diet of fish and eels.

While some Dog-Seals fled to the sea after the earthquake, others went inland, far from the water.

These Dog-Seals now lived in humid terrain, only having small lakes as a water source. Because of the habitat change, these Dog-Seals have evolved into a new species, known as the Dogeal kolovas, more commonly referred to as the Skylos.

Since the Skylos did not need to swim anymore, they did not need to use their tail. As a result, it significantly shrunk in size. Their legs also grew as a result of them using them more on land.

Life for the Skylos had become routine and peaceful until one day, a species known as Homo sapiens, or humans, invaded their home.
