Biology Spring of 2019

Once upon a time, there was a lonely mother cell. The lonely mother cell was tired of being alone. She wanted to have daughter cells, like her other friends.
The mother cell didn't know what to do. She wanted a family, but how would she get one?
One day, the mother cell overheard some other cells talking.
"Oh I love my daughters," one said. "But mitosis is so tiring!"
"Mitosis?" the mother cell thought. "Of course!"
Immediately the mother cell rushed to prepare for mitosis. The mother cell went into interphase. She began to grow larger and copy organelles. Then she synthesize a copy of her DNA and duplicated a centrosome. The mother cell began to grow even larger, then made proteins and organelles.
After interphase, the mother cell entered prophase. During prophase, the chromosomes lined up!
Next it was time for metaphase. During metaphase, the chromosomes lined up at the equator.
