
Alligators ARE ....
vicious creatures. It lives in the waters, usually you can find them in Florida. Many people can see alligators when they canoe in the rivers. It peaks out underneath the waters because it is probably hunting for smaller animals like fish, muskrats, turtle and so on. Alligators are considered reptiles. Like many reptiles, they are great swimmers. They are "cold blooded," so they can keep themselves warm.
Bumble Bee ARE...
little flying bugs. They are furry and spend much time in their beehives and collecting nectar from flowers. If you look closely at a field of flowers, you can see so many bumble bees scattered around. Bumble bees are so important for our environment because they help pollinate millions of plants each year. Don't bother these small creatures as they can sting you anywhere.
Cats ARE...
fluffy animals. They mostly live in people's homes or outdoors. They are good at climbing trees and chasing mice because they have sharp claws. They have excellent night vision, so you will find them active at night. Some cats are friendly and they don't mind if you pet them. Also, cats are very good at hearing. They hear better than dogs and people!
Dolphins ARE..
aquatic creatures. They live in the oceans. They are known to hop in and out of the waters. Dolphins are friendly animals and they love to interact with humans. Dolphins are extremely intelligent animals. They are the 2nd most intelligent ones in the world behind humans. They whistle to communicate with other dolphins. It is fascinating that they give themselves their own names. They have their own specific sound to call themselves.
Eggs ARE ..
fragile. Most animals lay eggs such as birds, snakes, ducks, and frogs. Eggs are shell-like or jelly-like. These animals find ways to protect them from predators. You can find a group of eggs in a comfy nest. Female ducks or geese lay on top of the eggs, so their offspring are warm enough. Every animals' eggs are different from other animals' eggs. Eggs come in various colors and details.
Flowers ARE ...
beautiful plants. They can be found on grass fields, gardens, woods and many other locations.
It has an important role in our environment as it drops seeds to make more flowers. It needs sunlight and water in order to survive. Flowers attract many pollinators such as bees, flies, moths, and hummingbirds. Flowers come in variety of colors and sizes. Most flowers have a great scent when to you smell them.
Gorilla ARE..
giant creatures. You can find gorillas in jungles, forests, swamps, and zoos. Sadly, they are endangered animals because they are being hunted. These animals have hands and feet like humans. Some gorillas have learned how to use sign language. Gorillas live in small groups called troops or bands. In each group, there is a dominant male,which are called Silverback. Silverbacks will defend their troop if they fell threatened.
Humming birds ARE ..
fast flying birds. They flap their wings in an extreme rate. They are the only birds that can fly backwards. You will rarely see hummingbirds because they stay in one spot for a short amount of time. They are so small that they are tiny as a nickle. They prefer to eat nectar from red and orange flowers.
Inchworm ARE..
not worms. They are caterpillars with legs at both ends of their bodies. Inchworms start their lives as eggs. During the winter they are attached under a leaf. Then, they hatch out of the eggs in the spring. They don't eat much. When they eat, they devour the leaves of most garden plants.
Jaguars ARE ..
are large cats. They live in North, Central, and South America. Jaguars are considered the largest cat in the Americas. They have orange and yellow coats, with dark spots. They typically live in the forests or woods. Jaguars are carnivores, so they commonly eat birds, frogs, fish, monkey, and deers.
Kiwifruit ARE ..
flowering plants. There are 60 different species of kiwifruit. They are originated in China and initially known as "Chinese Gooseberry." It grows on a vine. In fact, kiwi fruit develop either as male and female. Millions of tons of kiwifruit are produced in one year!
Lions ARE ..
are hunters. They are capable of hunting big animals like zebras and wildebeest. Female lions hunt the most, while male lions patrol the area and protect the pride. Also, they are really loud. Their roars can be heard up to 8km away. They are extremely fast runners as they can travel at a speed of up to 81 kmph.
Mosquitoes ARE..
small biters. They feed on blood of people and animals. Only female mosquitoes are the ones who feed on blood. They live for two week, while male mosquitoes live for a week. They lay their eggs on stagnant water, even puddles.
Nightingales ARE...
night singers. These birds are known for singing through the nights. They don't build their nests at high levels like trees. They build their nest above or on ground level. They eat insects such as ants and beetles.
Octopus ARE ..
good hiders. They can easily camouflage by changing the color and pattern of their skin. They are known to have 3 hearts. Two of the hearts serve to move the blood past the gills. The third heart pumps blood for the rest of the body. In fact, they have 8 arms!
Penguins ARE ..
flightless birds. Instead of using their wings to fly, they use it to help them swim in the water. You won't find penguins in the North Pole. They live in the Southern Hemisphere. They spend half the time in the water and the other half on land.
