Why hello kids. I am here to tell you about WWI and WWII. A long long time ago, there were many big wars or fights in the world. Two of many were known as World War I and World War II. These took place in many different environments or areas and had Many people that were loyal to their country. This is called nationalism. An example of nationalism would be how there was a group of Serbian nationalists that carried out the plan to assassinate Archduke Franz Ferdinand.

These Serbian nationalists wanted Austria-Hungary to give some land to Serbia where many Serbians were living. After Austria-Hungary declined their wish. the Serbian nationalists killed Franz Ferdinand. This killing was what led to the start of World War I.

Another example of nationalism is how countries started to build up their armies. Germany wanted to gain an overseas empire and It built up the army and the navy to make this happen. Other countries also started to build up their military forces. This affected the war because now people were getting bigger and stronger as a team.

Imperialism on the other hand is a system where a powerful nation controls and exploits one or more colonies. An example of this would be how once taken control over territory it is claimed as a colony. Colonies are governed and administered by either the imperial nation, a puppet government or local collaborators. the imperial nation was known as the ‘motherland’ and control over its colonies or groups.

Another example would be how Some European countries, such as France and Britain, had created large empires around the world and had become very rich. Big armies became threats to others, which caused the others to form alliances which is like a group or team.

Moving into WW1, one of the main causes of the WW1 was the Mutual Defense Alliance . Countries through out the world have always made mutual defense . their neighbors and treaties that could pull them into battle . These treaties meant if one of them was attacked , the allied countries would have to defend / protect .

as the world entered the 20th century , the arm race has begun . plenty of countries warships and increasing size of their armies . also countries began training more and more of their young men to be ready for battle . they increase in size , guns , speed , and armor .

much of origin of the war was based on the desire of the people of Bosnia . this specific essentially nationalistic and ethic led directly to their death . but more generally , nationalism in many countries through out Europe . So nationalism is one of the main causes of WW1 .

The countries in these groups had made arrangements work together and help one another if there was a war . each of the countries involved got their troops ready to fight . troops were groups that fought together and included both the army and the navy .

the battle was an example of trench Warefare , were long ditches or trenches was dug into the ground . soldiers lived in the trenches and sometimes they climb out to attack . the land between the opposing trenches which soldiers had to cross was called no man's land .

one of the effects of world war 1 was the caused the downfall of Germany , Turkey , Austria , Russia . The war also helped people open their eyes to it . this war also changed the balance of the world . WW1 than marked the end of colonialism as people started to become more nationalistic.

Another effect of WWI was that troops had to travel all over the world. infections were spread an troops and other people started to become sick. more than 25 million people across the world were killed. One of the most common was the Flu.

The third effect of WW1 was its growth in technology. WWI boosted the research of technology and created better transportation to go places or bring things, which means it was easier for people to communicate. More things were made and objects were created to help in WW1 and are still used in todays life.

The last effect was the womens job. Social life had changed because the men were in war. it became the womens job to run business and take care of the house, family, and also work while the men were away. Everyone wanted better life skills and living standards.
