This book is dedicated to all of the children battling with invisible disabilities everyday.

Hello children of the world, I would first like to thank you all for taking the time out to read this book. This book as you will see is quite unlike any other.
Throughout this book you will notice RED letters, as you read, write them down and at the end you will have a list of all the qualities you will need to become a FIZZIE fighter!
This is my big sister India.
She is cute and very funny!
She has extra long hair that tickles my face,
and 176 freckles on her cheeks.

My sister loves animals, and when she grows up, she wants to be a vet.
I know that she will be the best vet in the world, as she is so incredible to our pets. Our naughty pet dog Otis is the funniest.

My sister likes to hunt in the woods for bugs, snails and spiders, sometimes she tries to keep them as pets. She even had hundreds of ants once!

My sister always says that I am her best friend. I know I am because she does really brave things to keep me safe. She only tells me "no" when I am going to do something silly.

India goes to school just like most of the big children do. And to the outside world she is just like any other child. But there is something about her that not you, nor anyone else would ever know just by looking at her.

My sister has these things called Fizzies in her brain. You cannot see the Fizzies, they are really small! But they are not very nice, they are so, very, extremely, mean!

Fizzies are itsy, bitsy creatures that we cannot see, not even with a super big microscope. No matter how hard we look we just cannot see them! But I imagine them to look like this.

The Fizzies fly around in my sisters brain playing tricks on her all the time! They make noises louder, they make things itchy, like her clothes, lights brighter and people scarier! Even wonderful little children like you!

The Fizzies will whisper bad, evil things to my sister like...
Don't look at that child!
Don't talk to that person!
Don't smile at that little girl!

The Fizzies will then tell my sister to spin around to make all the noises and people just go away! They call this "Stimming"
Some children may only have one or two Fizzies and some children have lots of them. They have big, strange names like...

And lots of other names that get my tongue all in a twizzle! The Fizzies are around in my sisters mind almost all of the time. But sometimes they go really quiet!
I think this is when the Fizzies are taking a nap or eating their dinner, and during this time India is able to do most of the things that you or I can do. She will share her toys, and make me laugh until my belly hurts!

But just when I think my sisters Fizzies are gone for good, they come back. In just one minute they buzz buzz back into her mind, Everything will suddenly be too much for her. The rain on the window will TIP TAP loudly, the clock on the wall will TICK TOCK almost as though it is living in her head.
Even the things that I can’t hear such as the HMMMM, HMMMM, of the electricity in the light bulb or the CRACKLE, CRACKLE, of the static in the TV, will be super loud, almost as loud as fierce thunder to my lovely sister.

Sometimes she puts her hands tight over her ears, she starts to rock back and forwards, she might cry, she might suddenly say that she does not want me to touch her stuff now, she may no longer want to share. Instead my funny sister will seem like a different sister. And to the people that don’t know her, like you, she might just seem naughty, silly and some people even say she is crazy.

But I know best of all, that it’s just the Fizzies waking up or finishing their dinner.
