India's exact location is 28° 36.8°'N and 77° 12.5°'E and is located in the northern hemisphere. India is located in South Africa. Pakistan, China, Nepal, Bhutan, and Burma all border India on all different sides. India has major bodies of water on three sides. Arabian Sea is to its west, the Indian Ocean to its north and Bay of Bengal to its east.


Place
India has many different features that make it stand out from other countries. The Himalayas go through India and a part of Mount Everest is in India. Another mountain range that goes through India is the Western Ghats. The Ganges, Indus, Brahmaputra River run through India. The most common desert in India is the Thar Desert. The Nicobar Islands are located in India and are a chain of islands.








Movement
India has many different ways of getting around such as railways, cars, motor taxi, and buses. India also has one of the world's most diverse and complex migrations in history with one third of Indians being migrants. They are major exporters of engineering goods, both heavy and light. India was the first country to start producing steel and iron about 122 years ago.




Human Environment Interactions
The clean water source in India is very low because of the pollution from their factories and industries. As a result to the poor sewage system in India, the people pour their waste into the rivers and streams which causes more pollution. Deforestation is also a major problem due to the large amounts of trees in India and the need to cut them all down. India has one of the poorest air qualities in the world due to the smoke from car engines.



Region
India is broken up into 29 different states according to where their location is. North India is known for the Himalayas and other tinier mountains. West India is known for Bollywood and cricketers. South India is known for spices such as cloves and cinnamon. East India is known for fish dishes and strong football culture. Central India is known for tiger reserves. Northeast India is known for martial arts and bamboo handicrafts.
