Just like the Enchanted Forest is made up of may kingdoms, your body is made up of many systems. All of your body systems work together to keep you happy and healthy. Each of your body systems have a special job to do. Your systems are made up of organs that help the systems do their jobs.
It is important to learn about the systems of the body and how you can keep them healthy. With the help of some very special friends you’ll be an expert in no time!
“Flower gleam and glow, let your power shine” Rapunzel hums as her hair begins to glow.
Rapunzel’s hair has many uses: It can help you climb her tower, it can tangle you up in knots, or it could wrap you up all nice and warm. But I bet you didn’t know that it is also a big part of the integumentary system. Out of all of the things her hair does, this is the most important.

Your integumentary system is made up of your skin, nails, and, you guessed it, your hair. It helps your body protect itself from germs and helps keep your body warm and toasty. Your skin is made up of two major layers. They are the epidermal and dermis layers. They help keep the outside things out of your body and your insides in your body.
If your skin gets red and itchy from a bug bite or a rash, you should make sure not to itch and scratch. Itching and scratching will only make the rash worse. You should use cream or lotion to soothe the itch until it goes away.

“I’m like a shooting star, I’ve come so far. I can’t go back to where I used to be.” sings Jasmine on her daring adventure.
Jasmine is an adventurous and fearless princess. She loves to climb impossibly tall walls, ride magic carpets through winding streets and high into the sky, and just roam free. All of these things wouldn’t be possible without her skeletal system. Your skeletal system is the framing of your body. It also stores minerals and helps make blood cells. The bones that make up the skeletal system help protect your organs from damage. The skeletal system is very important for your body.
There are 206 bones in your body. These include your ribs, skull, spine, and humorous, just to name a few. Jasmine always drinks milk and exercises to make sure that her skeletal system is healthy and she can do all the things she loves to do.

Prince Phillip had to use all of his strength to fight Maleficent and save his beloved princess. All of his strength is housed in his muscular system. Your muscular system is made up of over 600 different muscles all throughout your body. Your muscles help you move and also help keep your temperature where it should be. Your heart is also a muscle, maybe the most important one! Your heart pumps blood throughout your entire body.
“Now, you will deal with me!” Maleficent shouts to the gallant Prince Phillip.
If you strain or work your muscles too hard they may tear or start to hurt. If they do, it can be fixed simply by using ice and resting. It normally only lasts a few days and heals without even using medicine! Prince Phillip had very strong muscles which allowed him to slay a dragon. He exercised and ate healthy for many years before his muscles got that strong. If you want to someday be that strong you should eat healthy and exercise too.

“Who are you?” the caterpillar asks.
“I-I hardly know sir...I’m not quite myself you see.” Alice replies nervously.
Alice grew and shrank many times when she was in Wonderland. She ate sweet cakes, bitter mushrooms, and drank syrupy potions to try and change back into her regular size. Her nervous system helped filter and determine what to do with the shocking foods. For that reason, we call the nervous system crisis management.

The nervous system handles your body’s crises and sends signals throughout the body. It’s the one that triggers pain and reacts to the things you touch. Your brain and spinal cord make up the main parts of the nervous system. They help send messages to other parts of the body so that you can react properly.
Alice’s sister read to her and made sure to fill her head with knowledge, that helped her brain grow healthy and strong. If you learn, read, and write your brain will stay healthy too!
