There once was a snake who liked to steal from other people; he would steal their ideas, work, and words and take credit for them. That is called plagiarism, plagiarism is when you steal or pass off someone's words or ideas as your own. One day Sneaky snake was slithering in a field and came across a small house and coincidentally the door was open so he went in.

Inside he found a mouse
“Who are you?
Asked the mouse
“I am sneaky snake”
Said Sneaky Snake
“Why are you called sneaky snake?
“Because I sneak around and steal stuff”
"Why do you steal stuff? asked the mouse
"Because Stealing is fun" Said the snake

"What is that paper on the table?" asked the snake
"Oh its this new idea i have been working on" Said the mouse
"oh cool" said the snake sarcastically
Then slowly he slithered over and then suddenly grabbed the paper.

"Hey, Give that back!" said the mouse
"mm no" said the snake
"Well I have a copyright license" said the mouse
"Whats that" asked the snake
"Its a license I hold so I have to give permission for others to use my idea."
"How did you get it?" asked the snake
"Oh I got it on Creative Commons, it is a website where you can get a copyright license

"well than where can I find stuff and use it without stealing it? hissed the snake.
"You can find that on a public domain, that is a website where everyone can use things like pictures and videos for free."

Is there anything else I should know? asked the snake
"Um yeah" said the mouse
"Do you know copyright even means" asked the mouse
"No" said the snake
"It is a form of protection provided by the laws for original work"
"Ok that makes sense" said the snake

"Well do you know what Piracy is?" asked the mouse
"Obviously not" the snake hissed quietly
"Piracy is unauthorized reproduction or use of a copyrighted book"
"Oh so basically plagiarism except it is a book?" asked the snake
"Yes" said the mouse
