
Marcus Loew was born in New York City in 1870.

Loew was born into a poor Jewish Family. As a Result, Loew was forced to work at a young age.
Loew parents had just moved to New York City from Austria and Germany a few years before Loew was born.

Loew had a wife named Carrie and two children named Arthur and David. Arthur then went on to marry Mildred Zukor who was the daughter of Adolph Zukor. Adolph Zuckor was another person who played a huge role in the film industry with Loew.
Before Loew got into the film industry he invested into the Penny Arcade business.
Shortly after Loew got into the Penny Arcade he purchased nickelodeon. He got into the business with Aldoph Zukor.
In 1920 Loew also purchased Metro picture corporation. A few years later Loew also purchased the Goldwyn picture corporation.
Loew was one of the people who help to establish Hollywood as the center of the film industry.
Loew ended up Dieing of a heart attack in 1927 at the age of 57. He died at his home in Glens Cove, New York.

Following Loew's death, he was known as "the most beloved man of all show business of all time."
