Ashley and her family's plane had just landed in Washington D.C. and Ashley was already looking forward to going and exploring D.C.! They decided they would spend the first day going to the National Mall.

Next on their agenda was the Thomas Jefferson Memorial. Thomas Jefferson was an American Founding Father who was the main author of the Declaration of Independence.

The Vietnam Vetrans Memorial was the next place that they had visited. There were originally 57, 939 names that were sketched into the memorial. The memorial continues to be added to for soldiers who meet the requirements to be added.
