Hi my name is Earthy and I'm one of the planets found in the Milky Way. Today we will learn a little more about the energy resources you can find in me.

The resources we are going to talk about are coal. oil, natural gas, nuclear power, and biomass.

Coal is a fossil fuel containing a combustible substance and it's a found in a black rock form. Coal has it's advantages and one is that it can be used to produce energy and we can find a lot of it. Coal can also be used with renewable resources to reduce emission.

Even though coal has come advantages it also has it's disadvantages. Sadly coal is not a renewable resource. It also contains high levels of carbon dioxide and too much of it is not good for humans. Coal can also create high levels of radiation and that's also not good for humans.

Oil is one of the most common energy resource and it is found in a liquid form. A big advantage about coal is that it has a high energy density, meaning a little can go a long way when producing energy. It's also easy to produce and refine oil and unlike other resources and oil can produce power 24/7.

A big disadvantage of this resource is whenever there is oil spills it contaminates and pollutes water affecting plans, animals, and humans. Oil also releases carbon dioxide adding to the Greenhouse Has Emmision. Although being able to refine oil is a good thing, during that process it produces harmful gases and solids like carbon monoxide and plastic.

Natural gas is flammable gas and it's a fuel source consisting primarily of methane. It is environmental friendly because is the one resource that burns cleaner than other fossil fuels. Natural gas is also the least expensive from the other fossil fuels.
