This story will start of with some research and facts about strokes then it will move on to my story.

Body systems it affects:
A stroke is a disease that affects the brain. it can either effect the right or left side of the brain, whichever side of the brain it occurs on it will effect that side of the body.

About strokes:
A stroke is a disease that affect the arteries that lead to and from the brain. In the US alone strokes are the 5th most common way to die. A stroke can lead to disabilities or defects in the body.There are 2 main types of stroke but there are also 3 other types of stokes ( ischemic and hemorrhagic).
Signs,Symptoms and Effects:
If occurs on left side of brain:
Can cause paralysis of right side
speech/language pronlems
slow behavior
Memory loss
If occurs on right side of brain:
Paralysis on left side
vision problems
fast behavior/movement
memory loss
Signs of a stroke may include: sudden numbness and confusion, trouble seeing or walking,sudden headache,imbalance,vertigo,slurred speech.
Treatment and if left Untreated:
Treatments: Medication and catheters
If a stroke is left untreated it will just get worse for the patient. It will cause a lot more bran damage and defects then it would if it was treated
Prevention
To help prevent a stroke:
Healthy diet
physical actvity
healthy diet
No smoking
Limit alcohol use
Things to know:
Not everyone will go through the same experience of having a stroke or dealing with it. In the US alone there is 795,000 people who suffer from a stroke. 87% of strokes are ischemic and 13% are hemorrhagic strokes.
My Story
I used to watch people and care for people who have had a stroke. It is hard at first not going to lie. Most people dont want help, they want to go back to their regular lives after leaving the hospital. But its just no the case for most people.
