I dedicate this book to the kindergarten students in Miss Hovanec's class at Crestview Elementary School.

Amelia Brown took a trip to visit Washington, D.C with her family. She traveled for miles and miles until she reached her destination.

Her first stop was the Library of Congress. She was amazed at the thousands of historical books, maps, and photos. It is one of the largest libraries in the world!

"Wow! The Washington Monument is a lot bigger in real life! I can't believe it was built to honor George Washington for his bravery during the American Revolution."

"My next stop is the White House. Did you know that the White House has a total of 132 rooms, a movie theater, and a bowling alley?"

"I spot a bald eagle! The bald eagle has a wingspan of over 8 feet. They have brown and white feathers. The bald eagle is our national bird."

"I can't wait to go to school and tell all of my friends about the historic places and symbols that I learned about in Washington, D.C!"
