One day in 1620 the Pilgrims said good bye to their family and friends . They were going to go far across the ocean to America. They went to the Mayflower and started to go across.

Many pilgrims died on the way because there was not enough food and water. About half of the pilgrims died.

They brought their cats and dogs with them. They had very little food to eat. There were 102 people and there was no toilet and no water to wash with.

After sailing for a long time they saw land.
