Dedicated to Mrs. Zimmerman

My name is Sam and I’m heading to Canada because I just won 2 tickets for a trip there! It was one in a million chance. My parents said if I wanted to go I have to go with a friend. So I went with my friend, Ethan. Ethan being a know it all in my class, told me that we would be flying over a biome called the taiga. The taiga is the
largest biome on earth. Anyways, today we get on our flight to Canada.
When we boarded the plane, it was very comfortable. It had first-class seats and when we sat down, we were greeted warmly by the attendance. John, our captain, was gonna fly us to Canada. Nothing could have gone wrong, or so I thought. When we were halfway through the flight, Ethan showed me the many
conifer trees under us in the taiga. I looked down, but before I could take a look at the window, it turned white. Then the lights turned off. Fear trickled down my spine. “What’s happening?”, I said. “Don’t know,” Ethan replied. The captain told us on the intercom that he was having technical difficulties, but they would have
the lights on shortly. But Ethan looked on his phone’s radar, and then he turned pale. “We’re in a blizzard!”,He said. He also said temperatures could reach up to -3 degrees Celsius. I didn’t believe him, until the captain went on the intercom, and said, “REPEAT, WE ARE GONNA CRASH LAND, EVERYBODY MAKE YOUR WAY TO
THE EXITS.” Before anyone got up, me, Ethan, and the captain had already made our way and opened the exit door. The winds hit us like a train. We jumped, the cold hitting me, and everything turned black, and the last thing I heard was an explosion.
When I woke up, I was laying on the ground about a couple of yards away from the plane. Ethan was already up with the captain scanning the wreckage for any survivors. After a while of searching, we found no survivors. We were able to salvage some food from the plane so we won't starve. Ethan was right. It was really
cold in the taiga. It felt like -1,000,000 degrees Celsius instead of -3. We built a fire hoping for someone to see it. Three nights later, we got out of the frying pan and into the fire. We had run out of food. We checked the wreckage a second for more, but there was no more. Then my world went upside down. And then I was plunged into a hole of darkness.
