In New York, a neighborhood called Harlem, went through a African-American renaissance. There was a flowering of music, art, poetry, etc. Some famous African-American musicians include Armstrong, Smith, and Ellington. A famous African-Ameeican poet was Langston Hughes and a famous author was Zora Neale Hurston.

There was also a boom in technology. Many people listened to their radios for news, advertisements, and entertainment. Inventions such as cars and frozen food made life a lot more easy. Movies allowed entertainment for people with more free time.
