Hi! My name is Helcia and I'm a Christmas tree.
I will tell you what Christmas looks like in Poland. So...

One day I was sleeping peacefully in the woods among my friends when suddenly...

Boom!!!

I fell to the ground.

When I woke up, I was in a cozy, warm place. I saw that some people were decorating me with nice glowing decorations.

They said that it was a tradition to decorate a Christmas tree on Christmas Eve.

Several days passed
when the whole family gathered in the kitchen and together began to prepare 12 dishes

Beetroot soup with ravioli, dumplings with cabbage and mushrooms, noodles with poppy seed, fried carp, dried compote, croquettes with cabbage and mushrooms, cabbage with peas, kutia with poppy seed, mushroom soup, Greek fish, carp in aspic. In Poland it is a tradition to prepare 12 dishes for the Christmas Eve's table.

The next day I saw that the adults were quietly putting colourful packages under me.Hiding presents under the Christmas tree is another custom in Poland. What a great country!

When the evening came, I saw that the whole family gathered at the table and everyone broke a wafer.

After they finished, they sat down at the big table and began to eat the food. I guess it's another tradition in this country.
