Jonny the Juicebox had been thrown away,

After only being used one time!

He should have been recycled,

But instead he’s covered in dirt and grime.

Suddenly he woke up one day,

To a very loud sound!

The garbage can where he had been,

Was being lifted off the ground.



He felt the world shaking,

But he didn’t know why.

He arrived at a strange place,

With mountains as high as the sky!

But these weren’t just any mountains, 

They had a horrible smell.

They were piles of garbage,

From what he could tell.

He thought this was a landfill,

But to his surprise,

These mountains spread over a beach,

He couldn’t believe his eyes.

Jonny sat there lonely,

For a little while.

He spotted another just like him,

In a nearby pile.

He asked “What is this place?”

For he had no clue.

All this garbage on a beach,

How could this be true?

"Hi, I'm Patty the Plastic Spoon,

I'm only 10 years old!

But I will stick around for hundreds of years,

Or so I was told.

We are in a small village,

In a land where they are poor.

Garbage is sent here everyday,

And piles up on the shore."

"And there’s so much garbage,

The problem continues to grow.

It has taken over the water and land,

Because it has nowhere to go."

"The only thing that they could do,

Is burn it really quick.

But the problem that comes from that,

Is it made everyone very sick."

"So then they put it in the ocean,

But that’s an issue too.

The whole ecosystem is getting damaged,

Noone knows what to do!”
