Since Ernest was a little boy, he wanted to become a part of the navy

His dad wanted him to be a doctor. But Ernest didn't listen to him. He was set on going into the navy.

In 1901, Ernest was picked to go on an adventure to Antarctica. But he got very sick during it and had to go home.

Ernest was dedicated though. He wanted to be the first to set foot in Antarctica.

So once he got better he went on another trip.

This time he didn't make it because of poor weather conditions.

He got together another crew. Not letting his unsuccessful voyages get to him.

He put a crew of 28 people together. His captain was Frank, he had also brought 2 super strong sailors with him, John and Timothy. Then he had his best friend Tom. Ernest wasn’t planning on bringing him but Tom begged him to go.
