Once upon a time, there was a man named Odysseus who was lost at sea
Trying to get back to his family
Odysseus and his crew faced many challenges along the way
And this is the story that they will all say

They stumbled upon the cyclops’ land, his men curious as to what lay beyond the sand
Hundreds of sheep were all they could see, they didn't know yet that they should flee
Suddenly captured by Polyphemus, huge with one eye
Who took many men in his fist and caused them to die
He devoured many of Odysseus’ crew
Rolling a boulder in the entrance so they couldn't get through
After many painful nights filled with fear, they hatched a plan to save them another year
Blinding the cyclops with a long wooden stick
Odysseus’ crew hid under the thick of the wool of the sheep that pranced out of the cave
As the Cyclops searched blindly for the men that were brave
Sailing away, feeling too much pride, Odysseus could not help himself but to have cried
“My name is Odysseus of Ithaca, for all who ask who blinded a Cyclops, an impossible task”

They touched on the sand Of a strange new land
A beautiful sorceress called Circe appeared
And the men were so grateful this way they had steered
Until she cursed them and turned them to pigs
While Odysseus was off, gathering fruits and figs
When Odysseus saw just what she had done He was afraid that the evil witch had won
But was stopped by Hermes, the messenger God
Who gave him an herb that sounds rather odd
This gift would grant him protection from her curse
And when Odysseus would almost be turned for the worse
Circe was stopped, and made to restore his men to their natural form
And for one long year Circe kept the crew fed and warm

Beautiful, mystical, magical, fear
Sirens were sea creatures that made men disappear
Luring sailors with their sweet song
They could capture any man, no matter how strong
The crew used beeswax inside their ears
So the Sirens song the men could not hear
They bound Odysseus with rope to the mast
And tightened them more until they had passed
Odysseus begged to be set free
And go to the Sirens, the beauties of the sea
But the men followed orders to keep on rowing
Until they had drowned out the Sirens song flowing
