"Hi Guys, my name is Erica the explorer and I'm here with another animal interview and today, we are going to learn about Mrs. Koala."

"I will ask Mrs. Koala questions about her habitat, diet, and babies."

"Where do you live?" asked Erica the explorer.

"I live in Australia, in rain forests and trees," answered Mrs. Koala.

"Wow, how fun," said Erica, "Now, what are your favorite foods?"

"Eucalyptus leaves." She responded. "They are poisonous but my species can eat them."

"Are you a bear?" Asked Erica.

Mrs. Koala laughed, "No I am actually a marsupial, or pouched mammal. I carry my baby in my pouch for six months after giving birth."

"Why are you called a Koala Bear then?" Asked Erica. "Well," started Mrs. Koala, "I look like a little bear so people call me that, but I'm actually related to the Wombat family."

"So, Mrs. Koala," said Erica, "I know a baby cow is called a calf, what are your babies called?"

"My baby koalas are called Joeys, even if they are girls, like what a baby kangaroo is called." Replied Mrs. Koala.

"I see your claws are very sharp," said Erica, "What do you use them for?"

"Well," began Mrs. Koala, "Since my food source is so far up in trees, I must climb and my long claws help me do just that!"
