Cuban son is a genre of music and dance that originated in the highlands of eastern Cuba during the late 19th century. It is a genre that blends elements of Spanish and African origin.

Sasa and Afrocubism
Sasa is a hispanic dance music that combines Afro-Cuban music with Caribbean styles.It was popular in ballrooms and nightclubs of Havana by the end of the 1950s.

AfroCubism is an award-winning, Grammy-nominated album featuring musical collaborations between musicians from Mali and Cuba. It was released in 2010.The musicians involved in AfroCubism already had successful careers .
Rapping
Rapping can be traced back to its African. Centuries before hip-hop music existed, the griots of West africa were delivering stories rhythmically, over drums and sparse instrumentation. During the late 1980s to early 1990s, rap started to escalate all over Africa. Each region had a new type of style of hip hop.
