Early Years
Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro was born in 1985. He was born on February, 5. He was born in a town called Funchal, Madeira in Portugal. Ronaldo was the youngest out of four siblings he was also born into a catholic family. Ronaldo’s father( Jose Dinis Aveiro) named him after the U.S president Ronald Reagan. When Ronaldo was 13 he moved from Madeira to Alcochete to join Sporting’s football academy. When he was 14 he told his mom that he thinks he can play professionally so he dropped out and played for Sporting Lisbon. In 2003 he signed with Manchester United at the age of 18. Ronaldo’s mom, Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro, was a cook and his dad, Jose Dinis Aveiro, was a gardener.
What Inspired them to make a change:
When Ronaldo was a young boy he was raised in a poor Catholic family. They lived in a town called Santo Antonio. His father died of alcoholism when Ronaldo was 20. This is why he doesn’t drink alcohol. He also helped his brother stop drinking before he became an alcoholic like his dad. I think these are all the reasons that make Ronaldo donate because he has had a pretty difficult childhood and he doesn’t anyone else to have a difficult childhood. He wants the best for everyone. He is literally a philanthropist and humanitarian for crying out loud!
Accomplishments:
Cristiano Ronaldo has so many accomplishments. Have you ever wondered why he has no tattoos? Well, the reason for this is because he donates blood to people in need regularly. In 2013 Ronaldo donated one of his most expensive trophy that was worth 600,000 euros and donated it all to make a wish. He also donated his jerseys and cleats to raise 60,000 euros to help a kid with brain damage in the hospital. Also, he paid for his hospital bills and gifted some of his jerseys and cleats. When Nepal had an earthquake in 2015 Cristiano Ronaldo donated 5 million dollars to them.
