It was a pleasant afternoon. Zoey, a young girl of 12 years was walking back home from school with her best friend, Hayley. Zoey was completely hyped up and full of enthusiasm. She couldn't wait to go home. Today was the day, the day every child waits for. Zoey was going to the pet shop to buy her furry pal today! She was going to finally get a dog. Hayley was also very excited.

Zoey runs back home and drops her bag on the rug itself. She ran into the bathroom, washed her face and grabbed her parents begging them to leave. Her mother laughed. They were so happy to see Zoey full of enthusiasm. Then they got into the car and reached a pet shop.

Wow these are so cute! Which one should I pick?

There were dogs of all breeds and kinds there. It was impossible to choose between all those cute, innocent faces. There were Pomerians, Beagles, Siberian Huskies, Pugs, Golden Retrievers, Daschunds, etc. Zoey called Hayley and asked her for help. Hayley suggested a Golden Retriever or a Pomerian. Zoey finally made her decision and bought a Golden Retreiever puppy! She was OVERJOYED.

The next morning, Zoey went with her new puppy to the park. She called Hayley and her class friend Dianna to the park. Hayley was so happy to see the cute face. Dianne's face lit up as soon as she saw Rover. The three girls played till late evening with Rover. They taught him various tricks, they taught him manners and they played fetch with him all day. It was a divine sight to see.

The next day at school as Zoey was walking to the bathroom she overheard the shadiest conversation between two grown men. She didn't mean to eavesdrop but it happened accidently. One scary looking man with a black suit said to the other, "I'll give you 10 million dollars if my job is done." The other man smirked and said, "Consider it done." Then they both departed in different directions.

I will pay you 10 million dollars

After this scary situation Zoey ran to Hayley and told her everything. Hayley gasped. Zoey described what the men looked like. After all that, Hayley guessed that the second man with blonde hair is the description her friend Steve Johnson's father who is also her neighbor! Zoey exclaimed, "Today after school I will come to your house and we'll check it out together."

After school, as planned, Zoey went to Hayley's house with her. They both went into Hayley's room and thought about what they should do. They made a plan that Hayley will distract Steve by engaging him in a conversation and in the mean time Zoey will take a look at his father and see whether he was the same man or not. As they executed the plan to Zoey's shock he was the same scary man.

As soon as Zoey and Hayley went back to Hayley's house Zoey started panicking. "Hayley I don't honestly know what to do. Help me!", panicked Zoey. Hayley exclaimed, "Calm down Zoey! We don't even know what they are up to. We will try to find out though okay? We will think of a plan." Zoey said, heavily breathing, "Whatever I heard by their conversation sounded very shady. I don't know what they're up to, but whatever they're doing doesn't sound nice. So we have to do what we are going to do quick."

The next day at school, Zoey tried to look for the suspicious men but she couldn't find them anywhere. In the afternoon, during P.E. class, Zoey went and sat on a nearby bench and frowned. Just as she was about to get up, she noticed Mr. Johnson and the other creepy man standing in the corner of a huge tree which hid them well. She got up and tiptoed to the tree and heard their whole conversation. Mr Johnson chuckled, "Well then, I'll meet you at the hideout. I suggest you call the rest of the gang too. Tell them to come to the cave."
