Allie is a new girl at my school, today is her first day. She's very odd though because she doesn't talk and only moves her hands alot.

My friends and I don't know what to do. She doesn't talk and writes things down for the teacher to understand. Also she wears a device around her ear!

Then Ms. Conner announces to the rest of the class that we have a new student named Allie, and she is deaf. She can read mouths, but as a class we are going to start learning how to sign so that we can communicate with her.

This isn't easy guys!

I hope it's worth it.

Just after a few days the rest of the children were able to exchange communication through sign to Allie, which helped her make new friends.

Allie and her new friends are now able to exchange jokes and conversations.

She's really cool!

and funny!

Soon enough Allie and her new friends started to play and started to learn about her hearing aid.

Then we had a couple lessons about deaf culture and also finding out that Allie's mom is deaf to, so she came in to explain as well!
