Did you know that every hour about 1 MILLION cells in your body are replaced?
Body systems are organized groups in our bodies to do different specific tasks. there are 11 different systems: Circulatory, Respiratory, Digestive, Nervous, Skeletal, Muscular, Endocrine, Integumentary, Immune, Reproductive, and Excretory. All of these systems help to keep your body in homeostasis, when your body is in a stable balance of for things like body temperature and how much water is inside your body.

Respiratory System
The Repiratory System helps you breath. It absorbs the oxygen you breath it and releases the carbon dioxide you breath out. the main organ of this system is the lungs. The oxygen that the lungs absorb go into the blood stream. Carbon dioxide goes back into the air from the blood stream and into your lungs where it's released. This process is called Respiration, it's important for us to breath and retain oxygen. A respiratory illness you can get is Asthma.

Circulatory System
The Circulatory System is how we get nutrients throughout our bodies. It scatters oxygen and nutrients to cells all over the body and carried Carbon Dioxide to the lungs. There are two main organs for this system, the Heart and the blood vessels. Blood vessels spread out through the entire body like little tubes and is filled with blood. The heart pumps the blood through the blood vessels. the blood flow to and from the heart is called Ciculation, it's important for us to stay healthy. If something happens to the system, you can have a stroke.

Digestive System
The Digestive System helps us digest the food we eat. It breaks down nutrients from the stomach and absorbs them. The two main organs for the system are the stomach and the intestines. The stomach has strong acids inside it that chemically break down food, leaving the nutrients for the Intestines, which break them down into molecules that can be absorbed. Gallstones is an example of a disease you can get from the Digestive System.

Excretory System
The Excretory System helps us with the waste and excess materials in our body. It releases the waste we have to help keep our body in homeostasis. There are three main organs for this system, the kidneys, bladder, and the colon. The kidneys filter out the waste and leftover water from our blood and stores it into the bladder until it leaves the body in urine. The leftover food you eat goes through the intestines and is stored into your colon until it's removed through feces. Kidney stones is disorder you can get in the Excetory System.

Nervous System
The Nervous System helps us with our five senses. It stores and collects information from the entire body, including outside. It controls the body's actions and reactions. The two main organs of the Nervous System are the brain and the spinal cords. They both process and store all of the information. A disease that involves the Nervous System is Parkinson's disease.
