Once upon a time in a faraway land lived Philip and his mother Edna. Where a winter storm was approaching the snow baron land and Christmas was right around the corner.
It was Philip's last day of school before he went on Christmas break. Philip was saying goodbye to his friends as he left the classroom to head home.

He and his mother were doing weekly chores around the house such as dusting, dishes, and doing the laundry.

As Philip was taking out the freshly clean clothes he exclaimed,” I don’t understand how we can lose so many socks in just one load!” To which his mother replied.
“We’ll just have to go into the market and get some more.”

And so Philip and Edna went to the market to see if they could find some socks.
“Mother look over yonder, there’s a small shop open. Let’s go see what they’re selling!” Philip shouted.

As Philip and his mother drove towards the shop as the wind howled.

Finally, they reached the booth, and there sat an old man with a large array of colorful socks. “ Well, this must be our lucky day!” said Edna. “Look around and let me know if you see anything you might like,” said the booth owner.

“Mother! These are the greatest pair of socks I’ve ever seen! Can I please get them please!” said Philip. Philip’s mother checked the price and explained, “ Philip! We don’t need to be spending this much money on a pair of socks!”

Philip pleaded, “Please mother! The dryer ate all my other socks, even the ones with cool coral colored cakes on the sides." And so Philip’s mother replied, “Alright, it can be an early Christmas present but make sure you don’t lose one!”
