Riceland is located in the eastern part of the Republic of North Macedonia, more pricesly it occupies the north side of Kocani valley and occupies the area on both sides of the valley, where it leaves Osogovo and expands its valley.

Riceland spreads over an area of 18.6km2 (7.2 sq mi) and has population of 28 880 inhabitants.

PROCESS OF ELECTIONS OF MAYOR

The process begins with the Election Commission electing mayors who want to be mayors of the city. The voting itself takes place electronically because the technology is much more developed and the voting takes place just in one round. The candidate who gets the most votes becomes the mayor of the city. The mayor has a 2-year term.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE MAYOR

-Represents the municipality

-Controls the legality of regulations of the council

-Announces the regulations of the municipality

-Ensures the implementation of the decisions of the council

-Ensures the performance of the activities that are delegated to it by law

-It proposes the annual budged and the annual account of the municipal budged
