Meet Trisha. Trisha hasn't been feeling like her usual chipper self lately, but she isn't sure why.
I only ate a few doughnuts after breakfast.

Children-as well as adults- can began to feel lethargic due to an overload of sweets and lack of gross motor activity.

Trisha's mother notices her sedentary state and suggests that she and her brother, Kyle, grab a few snacks and take their dog for a walk

After eating a few healthy snacks and playing a game of fetch with their dog, Able, Trisha felt much more energetic.
An article titled “Policy Statement-Children, Adolescents, Obesity and the Media”, states that a part of an ever-increasing problem of obesity stems from “increased sedentary activity and displacement of more physical pursuits” Making sure that children engage in daily physical activities can help decrease the rate of obesity as well as high blood pressure, and heart disease.

Trisha and Kyle came across some friends as they made their way through the park. “Come and join us!” they yelled excitedly.

After spending the afternoon playing kickball with friends and running around with Able, Trisha and Kyle headed back home... “You know mom and dad, I feel much better now than I did earlier today. I wonder why I felt so tired and wonky?”
Her dad laughed and said, “Well sweetie, when our bodies don’t have enough vitamins and nutrients or aren’t getting enough rest and exercise, it can cause fatigue and health issues. Starting tomorrow, how about we all spend some time outdoors as a family?” "Fantastic idea." added Trisha's mom as they all headed inside for the day.
