Last time we introduced you everything about the ecology and environmental challenges in urban areas. Now we are going to talk about the energy efficiency in public, commercial and residential buildings.

Is there municipal energy management program?
Yes, there is. The programs for promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources on the territory of the municipalities are in direct connection with their energy efficiency plans. The intended result of the implementation of the programs is:
- reduction of energy consumption from conventional fuels and energy on the territory of the municipality;
- increasing the security of energy supply;
- increasing the employment on the territory of the municipality;
- reduction of harmful emissions into the atmosphere;
- increasing the well-being and reducing the risk to the health of the population.
What are the main energy efficiency methods?
When compiling energy balances, the following methods are used in practice: computational, experimental and mixed. Each of these methods has its pros and cons. When choosing some of the methods it is necessary to take into account a number of important factors determining the appropriateness of the choice;

-Calculation method - It is characterized by the use of empirical formulas, equations, technical characteristics of the equipment, quality characteristics of the production, technological indicators, reference data, etc.
-Experimental method - Based on specially performed measurements or a combination of them using data from statistical energy reporting (obtained through 12 current measurements for control and reporting of technological and technical and economic indicators of the process).
-Mixed method (experimental-computational) - Depending on the application of the two methods, there are two variants of the method:
- combined - consistent use of the experimental and calculation method;
- method of mutual correction - parallel use of both methods.
What is Zero Energy Building and what are the main characteristics?
A zero energy building (ZE), is a building with zero net energy consumption, meaning the total amount of energy used by the building on an annual basis is equal to the amount of renewable energy created on the site, or in other definitions by renewable energy sources offsite. In some cases these buildings consequently contribute less overall greenhouse gas to the atmosphere during operations than similar non-ZNE buildings.
They do at times consume non-renewable energy and produce greenhouse gases, but at other times reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas production elsewhere by the same amount.

Strategies for energy change in public lighting
installation of switching devices:
- replacement of lighting fixtures and / or light sources with hands, which must have an optimal optical system and higher efficiency;
-installation of luminous flux regulators on switchboards;
-voltage stabilization in the system.
Energy efficiency in local transport?
In road transport, the annual fuel consumption of an equivalent car decreased from 0.667 toe / eq. Car in 2007 to 0.595 toe / eq. car in 2009, which is an indicator of improving the efficiency of this mode of transport. The growing energy consumption in the sector is due to the rapidly growing number and annual mileage of cars at the expense of reducing the use of more energy efficient rail transport. In the coming years, transport will require special attention, efforts and measures to limit the growth trend of energy consumption.
The Information Bureau set up under the project aims to provide citizens with a complete catalog of services provided by the municipal administration. Each of them has the opportunity to receive a printout with preliminary information about the necessary documents, deadlines, price of the service, room and telephone for reference.
Is there any municipal help desk for EE for the citizens? – short description of its tasks.
