Chapter 1

How Mertopia Began

Mertopia, the beautiful,

underwater city was

created when two

scientists made an attempt

to make an action figure

come to life, but failed.

They threw the failed

experiment into the ocean.

Soon after, someone

dumped clay mermaids in

the same spot as the failed

experiment. It turns out

that all it needed was a

little bit of water.

The experiment brought

the mermaids to life!

The mermaids built a castle

and decided their city

needed a name. They

thought and thought.

Then, one of the mermaids

had a great idea! “Let’s call

our city Mertopia!”

Everyone agreed, so it was

settled.They named their

city Mertopia. That’s how

Mertopia was created.

Chapter 2

1000 Years later....

The queen and king decided

they didn’t want to be king

and queen anymore, but

they didn't have any

children, so they had to

pick someone to be king and

queen.

“Who should we

pick? How should we pick?”

The queen asked. “ Maybe

a draw?” The king

suggested. “ That's it! A

big hat draw!” The queen

said.

So the king made an

announcement. “ We have

decided we don’t want to be

king and queen anymore, so

we are doing a draw in the

palace at 10:00 a.m. If you

would like to be king or

queen, you can register at

the town hall,” the king

announced.

There were

many people listening, and

two of those people were

Bob and Mary Kratchen.

The Kratchens’ had a lot of

evil people in their family,

but Bob and Mary were

more evil than all of them

combined!

They had always wanted to

rule the world, and this was

their perfect opportunity!

They made sure to

register. Bob and Mary

went to the town hall

straight away.

After they entered

the draw, they went home

and waited for 10:00 a.m.

A few hours passed, and

then it was time for the

draw! They headed

straight for the palace.

When they arrived, they

got front row seats!

“ Hello, and welcome

everyone!” The queen

declared, “Would everyone

take a seat? I would like to

begin.” Then the king came

up with a big hat that was

full of little slips of paper.

Whoever's name he pulled

out would be the new king

and queen!

The king mixed them

around, pulled one out and

said,

“The new king and

queen are

Bob and

Mary!!!” The king

said. Bob and Mary were

soooooooooooooo happy.

They swam happily to the

front, and the king and

queen gave Bob and Mary

their crowns. Bob’s crown

had rubies and emeralds on

it, and it was solid gold.

Mary’s crown was silver

with diamonds on it.

Chapter 3

I AM THE KING!!

Mary sat in her throne as

Queen Mary, and Bob as

King Bob. one minute later,

Mary wanted a drink, so

she called her servant. Her

servant came right away.

“What can I do for you,

Queen Mary?” She asked.

“Fetch me some water,”

Mary said.

“Don’t be lazy,”

Her servant said. Mary was

furious! “The queen was

able to get things herself!”

The servant continued on

with her insults.

Bob heard the servant and

was very angry. “Your

fired!” He yelled. “You

can’t fire me! Your no

king!” She yelled back.

“How dare you talk to me

like that! I am the king,

and your fired!” He

screamed. “Fine!” The

servant yelled as she

stormed out of the palace.

After that Bob wanted to

make sure everyone knew

that he was the king, so he

wrote this article and hung

it all over the palace:

I am king, and don’t you forget

that! One of Queen Mary’s

servants refused to get her a

glass of water and called her

lazy.She said some rude things.

Of course,she’s fired. I just

wanted to let you know that I AM

KING!

No one wanted to be fired,

so they all respected Bob

and Mary, even though they

hated the change of king

and queen. As you know,

Bob and Mary were evil. So

they decided they needed a

hideout to make their evil

plans.

Chapter 4

THE HIDEOUT

Just then, they got an

idea!“We better build it

ourselves, because we can't

have anyone knowing where

it is,” said Mary. “It can be

in our room, and all we have

to say is mirror mirror on

the wall and tap it three

times to get in!” Bob said.

So they built it.

Since they

were terrible builders, it

took one year, but they did

it. They were very

satisfied.

One day, when

they were going to start

their evil plans, the maid

was walking by, when she

heard the King and Queen

talking to the mirror. She

was very curious, so she hid

and watched them.

“Mirror

Mirror on the wall” Bob and

Mary chanted together,

and then knocked on the

mirror three times, and the

wall moved and opened up

to a secret compartment!

As Bob and Mary walked

through, the wall closed

behind them!

She waited in

her hiding spot for ten

whole minutes, when Bob

and Mary finally came out.

When they left, the maid

said, “Mirror mirror on the

wall,” and knocked on it

three times. Sure enough,

the wall opened. She

walked in, and the wall

closed behind her.

The

maid looked around. There

was a tiny pink table, two

yellow wooden chairs, and

some barbecue potato

chips. It all looked pretty

normal to her. She was

about to leave, when she

saw something else.

It was a piece

of paper with some

pictures on it. She looked

at the headline. “What!!!”

she exclaimed. It was

entitled “EVIL PLANS.”

She decided she had to do

something about it.

She

grabbed it, stuffed it in

her pocket, and sneaked

out. She went to the

fireplace and made a fire.

Then , she took the paper

out of her pocket and

burned it! Then, when it

was ashes, she put the fire

out.

The next day, when

Bob and Mary went to make

more evil plans, they found

their plans missing! They

sounded the alarm, locked

the palace, and took out

their lie detector. Then,

one by one, they interrogated everyone in the. kingdom.
