Ruby's Lemonade Stand
by Salma Abdeen
July, 2020

It's a warm sunny day at preschool. Ruby gets an idea to sell lemonade. She calls her friends over."What do you think we need to build a lemonade stand?" Then she begins to sing: "Lemonade, lemonade, who wants to buy lemonade?"

Ruby's friends gather around her and says "we need a big piece of paper and some markers". The teacher hears them making plans and walks over. She supplies them with a big piece of butcher paper, markers and two long tubes that she had saved from used up wrapping paper rolls.

Ruby and her friends share their ideas with each other. They draw lemons and children on the butcher paper.

Then Ruby asks help from the teacher to write the words "Lemonade Stand" and requested some play money that they use in the dramatic play area.

Ruby goes to the writing center where she finds 4 clip boards, paper and pencils. She hands them over to her friends and says "you can write down the orders when people come to buy lemonade, then give it to me".
