I dedicate this book to my dad, Robert Geiser.

I woke up to the smell of eggs and bacon. I hopped out of bed and was thankful that it was Saturday morning. I had the whole day to play! I walked over to the kitchen to eat. After I finished my breakfast, I slowly walked over to the window facing the backyard. We lived in a one story house that was made in the 1970’s in Poway.

I loved how the sun peered into the house. I saw my dad and wanted to hang out with him, so I grabbed my sparkly baton and headed over to the pool.

Alright! It’s done! I thought to myself as I watched my dad scoop the dirt from the top layer of the brand-new pool. With excitement, I ran over. Dad sharply looked at me and yelled, “You can’t go into the pool yet!” There was a good reason for that, I was only 7 years old and I didn't know how to swim. So, I just hung out by the pool.

I squatted near the edge of the pool, close enough to dip my baton in the water. I began twirling and swishing it around. Ooooh it looked so pretty in the water. SPLASH!
