--Present answer options that are different parts of speech, but that come from the same root word.

Tip 1: Learn to Identify what part of speech is missing from the sentence

Noun/Pronoun: -usually go before a verb

                     -nouns often appear after a/an or the

                     -nouns may go after an adjectives

Verbs: -usually follow a noun or pronoun 

Adjectives: -usually come before a noun

                  -often follow a linking verb

Adverbs: - usually end with -ly

                -can appear after a verb

                -can appear before a subject

Preopositions: -always followed by a noun

Tip 2: Understand how different part of speech are formed

Nouns: -acy

            -al

            -ance/ence

            -dom

            -ity

            -ness

            -ship

            -sion/tion

Verbs: -ate

           -en

           -ify

           -ize

Adjectives: -able

                 -al

                 -ful

                 -ic

         -ious/ous

                 -ish

                 -ive

                 -less
