This is Faye's mom, Lizzy. She is a lawyer.

Good morning, sweetie. How are you feeling about your first day of school?

This is Faye. She is feeling nervous about her first day. She misses her old school and her old friends.

I'm scared.

I'm afraid the other kids won't like me.

Aw, sweetie. Why are you scared?

I hear you. Starting a new school is a scary thing. Not everyone is going to like you, but the right ones are going to love you.

Okay, Mommy. I think I'm ready to go.

The drive to school is not a long one. Faye and her mom make it just in time for school to begin.

Lizzy walks Faye to her classroom to wish her luck on her first day. Before she leaves she gives her daughter a hug goodbye.

Faye walks into her classroom and becomes nervous because of everyone looking at her.

Hi, you must be Miss Faye Harper. I am Mrs. Maria. Welcome to Crawford Elementary.

Mrs. Maria introduces Faye to the students and has her sit next to a girl with short red hair.

Faye sits next to the girl with a nervous look on her face. She really wants to make a friend, but does not know how.

Hey, Faye. I like your name.

Gee, thanks. What's your name?

Autumn. My mom named me after her favorite season.

 That's a pretty name, but my favorite is summer.
