Let's talk about the things that led up to the Revolution,

also known as, the road to revolution.

French and
Indian war

First, let's head over to the French and Indian war, which took place during the late 1750s and early 1760s.
The two sides in this war were the British and French. On the British side, there were British soldiers, Native Americans allies, and colonists who would be given more territory and trade if the war was won.

The French had the support of many Native Americans as well since they protected the fur trade and would maintain their land. However, some of the French sided Indians started to ally themselves with the British later in the war.

In the end, Britain won the war, gaining a lot more land. Since they had to govern a large number of people, they started establishing more rules, which was different from the way they ruled before the war with little restrictions.

As a result, the war became a turning point in the relationship of the colonists and Britain. The colonists were angry because they didn't get paid for fighting, however, this war was so they could have more land. Thus, Britain didn't pay them. As a result of the war, more policies and taxes are put in place which upset the colonists

Present Day

After the French and Indian War

Now let's head over to the French and Indian war aftermath.

The French and Indian War caused debt that the colonists had to pay for, provoking the British to pass many acts. For example, the Stamp Act in 1765 meant that all documents and printed papers needed to have an official stamp.

All official stamps were taxed by the British, causing the colonists to pay taxes without representation. This was a violation of the colonists' rights, resulting in boycotts on British goods, riots, and attacks on the tax collectors.
