Climate is the long term weather patterns or average experienced weather of a particular place or region.

Australia is located close to the equator. This means Australia's climate is hot.
Within Australia, there are many climate zones.
It is driest in the middle of the country, with tropical areas in the norths and cooler climates in the south.

There are 6 climate zones that can be found in Australia. They are equatorial, subtropical, desert, grassland and temperate.
EQUATORIAL
Equatorial zones usually have high temperatures all year round with heavy rainfall which makes the temperature very humid.



TROPICAL
The tropics are warm, wet and humid. Tropical climate zones have distinct wet and dry seasons.
Places like Cairns and Darwin are located in a tropical climate zone



SUBTROPICAL.
Subtropical zones border the tropical zones as it is further away from the equator. Summers are hot and winter are mild. Brisbane is located in a subtropical climate zone.
