Lay-Ups:
A lay-up is just what it sounds like: a shot where we lay the ball up on the backboard or over the rim and into the basket. It can be done forwards, backwards, or sideways. It is a lay-up just the same.
Shooting:
Shooting the basketball is the MOST important skill for you to master. You need to be able to shoot the basketball, and make it into the goal, in order to receive points.
Foul Shooting/Free Throws:
Free throws, or foul shots, are unopposed attempts to score points by shooting from behind the free throw line, a line situated at the end of the restricted area. Free throws are generally awarded after a foul on the shooter by the opposing team.
Passing:
Basketball is a team sport, meaning all players are involved. One of the main skills used to accomplish this is passing. There are two main categories of passing: "Air" passes and "Bounce" passes.
