Independent?
When a country becomes independent they are free from control, influence and support of another country.
Why is it important?
Leaders of the countries can make decisions they believe are best for their people.
The country would have an opportunity to become developed.
When did Barbados Become Independent?
On November 30th, 1966 Barbados gained its independence from Britain, under the rule of the Right Excellent Errol Walton Barrow.
After becoming independent, Barbados adopted their own symbols.
