Newton's Laws

Nancy is walking down to the grocery store one day when a stranger approaches her...
"Have you heard about Newton's Laws?" the stranger asked.
"No, I have not.. what are they?" Nancy replied.
"Here, let me show you," the stranger grabbed Nancy's hand and they went inside the store.

"Newton's first law of motion states that an object at rest will remain at rest and an object in motion will remain in motion unless acted upon by an unbalanced force." the stranger said.
Nancy shook her head in agreement.
"Force is an interaction that will change the motion of an object." the stranger continued.
He pointed to a lady pushing a cart.
"The cart is moving because the lady is applying force to it. The other carts are still because they are at rest and not being acted upon by a force." the stranger explained.
"Ah, I understand! What about Newton's second law?" Nancy asked curiously.

"Newton's second law states that acceleration depends on an objects mass and on the net force which is acting on the object. Net force is the overall sum of the forces acting on an object. The formula for this is F=MA. Where F stands for force, M stands for mass, and A stands for acceleration." the stranger explained.
"The law says that if two objects are pushed with the same force, the object with the greater mass will have a slower acceleration than the object with the less mass. In other words.. the less mass an object has, the greater the acceleration. If a person pushes two carts, one empty and one full of groceries, with the same force, the empty cart will travel farther and accelerate more compared to the full cart," the stranger continued.
