Tomskaya oblast is situated in Siberia. It borders on Omsk, Kemerovo, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Hanti-Mansiysk regions. It is a great industrial centre of Siberia.

Tomsk is the capital of Tomsk oblast. It is an old Siberian town. It is located on the bank of the river Tom, in Western Siberia. Tomsk was founded in 1604. It is known as a great educational, scientific, cultural and industrial centre.

THE ASINO COAT OF ARMS.
The coat of arms of Asino was approved by the District Duma’ s decision in May, 1995. There is a horse at the upper part of the coat of arms, at the lower part-a ripe grain and a steel nut. The fir-tree is depicted on the background in the middle.The background in the centre of the circle is pink-purple.
The author of the Asino coat of arms is Kemenov Vasiliy Timofeevich, a graphic artist, the creator of exlibrises.

Asino in Brief.
Asino, one of the Siberian towns, was founded in 1896. A small village was built on the left bank of the Chulym River. In 1952 the village Ksenijevskiy became the town, named Asino.
The Beginning of Asino
The first settlers were impressed by the beautiful scenery of this land. They noticed pine-forests, different valuable animals and deep river named the Chulym. Such a combination of natural components attracted the people who settled on the banks of the Chulym.
People came there from Smolensk, Vilensk, Vyatsk, Kaluga and Tombov regions. They worked hard to explore unknown areas. The settlers used horses to plough land.

Famous Soviet - Russian writer, screenwriter, war correspondent, public figure.
In 1952 Markov was awarded
the State Prize of the USSR for
his novel "The Strogovs". He
wrote his famous novels
“Father and Son” (1962-1964),
“The Siberia” (1969-1973) for
which he got the Lenin Prize
Vil Vladimirovich Lipatov (1927-1979)
Famous Soviet writer, screenwriter and novelist, journalist, special correspondent.
V.V.Lipatov lived and worked in Asino in 1958.
The street and the Central Library were named after the writer in Asino in 1987

Vasiliy Timofeyevich Kemenov
(1929 - 2006)
People know him as the artist-graphic, the teacher, a great chess-player, the author of the Asino Coat of Arms.He created exlibrises - more than 500 book signs.
