Today was Carly's very first day of school. She was so excited but so nervous at the same time. What if I don't make any friends, Carly worried as she got dressed.

When Carly got to school she was happily greeted by her brand new teacher, Mrs. Flower. 

"Hey, Carly! I am Mrs. Flower! Why don't you take a seat next to any one of your new classmates."

Carly took a deep breath and made her way over to a girl sitting by herself. The girl looked at Carly and gave her a wave.

"Hi, I am Emily! Are you new too?" The girl said.

"Yeah, it is my first day." Carly replied.

"Cool me too! Let's be friends!" Emily said exited.

Later that day Emily and Carly both went out to recess where they met even more friends.

When the school day ended Carly felt great. She made a lot of friends and was excited to tell her parents the great news.

When Carly got home she told her mom the great news and she couldn't be more proud.

By communicating and talking to new people, Carly was able to make many friends and felt very good about her very first day of school!
