This book is dedicated to the men who fought in the war during the American Revolution
for my independence.

The French and Indian War-The road sign I created is the number 7. The number 7 represents the Seven Years' War which is the French and Indian War. The French and Indian War was the North American conflict in a larger imperial war between Great Britain and France known as the Seven Years' War. The French and Indian War began in 1754 and ended with the Treaty of Praise in 1763.
1763

Sugar Act-The road sign I created for the Sugar Act is an arrow that is going up. The Revenue Act of 1764, also known as the Sugar Act, was the first tax on the American colonies imposed by the British Parliament. Its purpose was to raise revenue through the colonial customs service and to give customs agents more power and latitude with respect to executing seizures and enforcing customs law.

1764
Quartering Act-required the colonies to house British soldiers in barracks provided by the colonies. The road sign is actual a picture of a barrack. If the barracks were too small to house all the soldiers, then localities were to accommodate the soldiers in local inns, livery stables, ale houses, victualing houses, and the houses of sellers of wine.
1765

Stamp Act-an act of the British Parliament in 1765 that exacted revenue from the American colonies by imposing a stamp duty on newspapers and legal and commercial documents. As you can see, the road sign that was selected are pictures of stamps, which represent the name of the act as well as the duty of the Stamp Act.

1765
Townshend Acts-The road sign I created for the Townshend Acts is a stop sign representing "no taxation without representation." The Townshend Acts were a series of measures, passed by the British Parliament in 1767, that taxed goods imported to the American colonies.
1767

Boston Massacre-The road sign is a grave stone. A mob of American colonists called Patriots, were protesting due to taxation measures passed by a British parliament. They gathered at the Customs House in Boston and begin taunting the British soldiers, guarding the building by throwing snowballs and other objects at the British soldiers. The soldiers began firing and killed five men. This was the first fatalities in the American Revolutionary War.
1770

The Boston Tea Party-The road sign that was created for the Boston Tea Party is a face of anger. American colonists were frustrated and angry at Britain for imposing "taxation without representation," and dumped 342 chests of tea, imported by the British East India Company into the harbor. It showed Great Britain that Americans wouldn't take taxation and tyranny sitting down, and rallied American Patriots across the 13 colonies to fight for independence.
1773

The First Continental Congress-Delegates from each of the 13 colonies met in Philadelphia to organize colonial resistance to Parliament's Coercive Acts. The road sign is a picture of the Congress building which represents the first meeting of Congress. The Congress was structured with emphasis on the equality of participants, and to promote free debate.
