I would like to dedicate this book to George himself for helping in the creation of the United States of America.

George was born on February 22, 1732, in Westmoreland County, Virginia.

George was born to father Augustine and mother Mary Ball Washington. George also had 9 siblings! His biological siblings were Samuel, John Augustine, Charles, Betty, and Mildred. He also had half-siblings named Butler, Lawrence, Augustine Jr, and Jane.

During his young years in life, George went to school. In school he learned mathematics, geography, and much more. George often excelled in his classes and was praised for it.

When he was 16, George worked with a group of surveyors. They navigated the local land to tell others of what it had to offer. George would serve as the official surveyor of Culpepper County for 2 years.

Early in George's life, many important people in his life died. These people included his father and his brother Lawrence. These deaths gave George the inheritance to their land and Mount Vernon.

George had to keep pushing through the pain and continued to better himself. George often did a lot of reading to grow his knowledge. When he wasn't reading, George worked on the family farm and grew his land.

During the French and Indian War, George joined the military. He quickly rose to the rank of major for his leadership qualities. Later, he became a colonel and served under a good friend in General Edward Braddock.

It was in the Battle of Monongahela that General Braddock was killed. George kept pushing though and helped the British win the French and Indian War.

George's political career began in 1765 when he was elected as a member to the Virginia House of Burgesses. There he discussed issues such as taxation without representation.

Through George's early political career he helped make decisions about creating a new nation, the United States of America. He eventually helped create and sign the Declaration of Independence which was the beginning of the new country.

During the Revolutionary War, George served as a general. Early on, he had to overcome many obstacles, especially in Valley Forge.

George and his soldiers faced the cold, hunger, and improper training. With help from his fellow generals, George was able to put together a strong army that was ready for any battle.
