Come along with me on my big adventure!

Hi friends! My name is Molly the Molecule!

Hmmm... where should I travel to today?

I am low on energy, so I should transport myself to a place that does not require much energy.

This means that I will be doing passive transport!

I know where to go! I will go to the island! Yay!!!

To get there, I need to take a boat which transports me across ocean. The ocean is like the semipermeable membrane of the cell. The boat will take me to the island by going with the concentration gradient, across the semipermeable membrane, and onto the island!

The concentration gradient is a process that happens when particles of a higher number move to a place with a smaller number of particles.

The town. where I live, has less molecules in it than the island does. 

I will be going to the place that has less molecules. The direction of me, a molecule, is going from high concentration to low concentration!

I can see the island right over there! 

But first, we have to cross through a little section to help us get through the semi permeable membrane!
