Moctezuma

Tenochtitlan was a city back in the 13 to 15 hundreds. It home to the people called Aztecs. Their most known ruler was Moctezuma. He was born sometime in 1466 and he died in a war with the Spanish in 1520. But it wasn't the spanish that killed him, it was his own men! His men were so mad, they started throwing rocks at him, one bashed his head, and he died from that.

          Hernando Cortes 

     Hernando Cortes was a Spanish Conquistador that led an expedition that caused the falling of the Aztecs, the people of Tenochtitlan. But all of his men were very scared, but Hernando was so desperate for the                       treasures that the Aztecs had, he                           burned the ships that he stole from                         the King & Queen could leave.                       

                Aztec Gods

       Aztec people believed in many gods, in fact, when the Aztecs first saw Hernando Cortes, they thought he was a god. The most well known Aztec god was Huitzilopochtli. He was the god of war, sun, and sacrifice. He was also the most powerful of all the gods. All the Aztec gods had hair on there face so that's why they thought Hernando Cortes was one of their gods.

          BATTLE OF                                TENOTITLAN

The Battle of Tenochtitlan started on May 26th, 1521 through August 13th, 1521. The Spanish  conquistadors wanted the riches that the Aztecs had, so they started a war. It went on for about 3 months! But eventually, the Aztecs had fallen, Spanish had won!

      TENOCHTITLAN TODAY

Tenochtitlan does not exist today, but the location is now called Mexico City. It is now the capital of Mexico and has a 21,782,000 population in 2020. That is way more than Tenochtitlan had which was 400,000.
