The African savanna is where our safari takes place. The savanna ecosystem is a tropical grassland with warm temperatures year-round and with its highest seasonal rainfall in the summer.
When you go on a Safari in Africa, you can expect to see all kinds of animals. Lions, Elephants, Rhinos like the one in this picture, and Cheetahs. These are just a few, but let's take a closer look at these animals and learn about them. Quick! I hear our first animal!
You might recognize this animal. An elephant of course. Elephants are the largest land animals on Earth. An elephant's diet consists of plants, fruits, and trees because they are herbivores.
Here we have none other than the African Lion. Lions are the second largest cat in the world, and are carnivores. They need approximately 7 kilograms of meat daily.
Next on our safari we have Zebras. Zebras are one of the most common animals seen in Africa. Zebras are also herbivores, eating grass throughout the day.
