John was a hard-working doctor who saved many lives;

however, not many people liked him because of his ambitious drive.

My skills are so much better than you all.

This is why nobody likes you.

John was the one who gave it his all,

from surgeries to diagnoses to his medical calls.

John was truly gifted and was a sight to be seen.

The problem with John was he loved to boast and preen.

I have never seen this.

John's downfall began on a dark gloomy day.

This should have been a sign for John to stay home and play.

John began his rounds and saw a patient who was new. 

Her case was troubling and out of the blue.

Can you fix me, doctor?

For sure no problem

The patient was young, could not be more than eight, but had skin that was wrinkled... she appeared 88.

Her eyes shone like a light when she met Doctor John.

Her hope was renewed for her symptoms to be gone.

"I'm so glad to meet you!" she exclaimed with glee. "I've been seen hundreds of times with no answer for me. 

Your skills are renowned, your reputation known wide. 

Please help me, Doctor John, you're the best worldwide."

Doctor John went home and studied his books.

He searched online and gave all sources a look

he scoured and scoured but could not find a tip for helping his patient, not even one bit.
