Turkey  officially the Republic of Turkey , is a transcontinental country located mainly on the Anatolian Peninsula in Western Asia. Approximately 70 to 80 percent of the country's citizens are ethnic Turks. Istanbul, which straddles Europe and Asia, is the country's largest city, while Ankara is the capital.

One of the typical features of Turkish clothing is the usage of many layers. Very often people wear trousers, a long robe and a jacket on top. Women usually wear several scarves or kerchiefs of different colors. Turkish şalvar  Turkish trousers or dimije are traditional baggy trousers gathered in tightly at the ankle. Men may wear the traditional loose coat, called a jubba.

There are many explanations for the origin of the flag. One of them is a story from the time of the conquests of Murad I, who won a spectacular victory at the Battle of Kosovo Field: after fierce fighting, Turkish soldiers searched the battlefield at night for their fallen comrades. They found them in pools of blood. The Moon and Venus shone brightly as the Morning Star.

Although the red flag has been used since 1793, in its current form it dates back to 1844 and was officially adopted on June 5, 1936.

In Turkey people use the Turkish language. Turkish is a very ancient language going back 5500 to 8500 years.

The basic Greek costumes are chiton and peplos.  
Peplos was usually wool and had Doric roots. It was a women's outfit. It's one large, rectangular piece of fabric, folded in half, tied at the shoulders, and tied at the waist. Chiton comes from old Hellas, and was worn by the heroes of Homer as outer garments, but also under armor, to protect the skin from abrasion. They were usually woven from linen. They had longer and shorter versions, depending on the region, because in Greece nothing was standardized.

Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who is the founder of the Turkish Republic, always respected the flags not only his but also the others' flags. 

He had got many stories about how he showed his respect to the flags.

One of them was after World War I had finished,  during his visit to one city he saw that  one country's flag was spreaded to the ladders. He got anry and ordered to taken it. Also He added 'The flag shows one country's freedom, We never step on it.'
